Attractions
The Saint-Ulrich priory was founded in 1100 by a Count von Pfirt for the canons of the Augustinian order . It was destroyed and abandoned during the German Peasants' War (1524–1526). The church of the priory was converted into a parish church . The Gothic choir , which dates from the 14th century, has been preserved. The side altars of the church are in the Baroque style. South of the church is the former residential building of the prior from the 15th or 16th century. It has been converted into a farm. Since 1802 Saint-Ulrich has belonged to the parish of Mertzen, which used to belong to the Saint-Ulrich priory.
The old oak in the town center was planted in 1792 and is considered a " freedom tree ".
The Kappala is a small chapel dedicated to Mary . It stands on the border with Mertzen. It was built by a resident of Saint Ulrich who was captured during the Russian campaign in 1812 . He built it as a thank you for his return.
