Montreux-Jeune (German Jungmünsterol ) is a French commune with 370 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Masevaux and is a member of the community association Sud Alsace Largue .
geography
The municipality of Montreux-Jeune is on the border with the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . In the north-west of the municipality the Rhine-Rhône Canal runs in the area of the Burgundian Gate between Altkirch and Belfort .
Neighboring municipalities of Montreux-Jeune are Magny in the east, Chavannes-les-Grands in the south-east, Brittany in the south-west, Montreux-Château in the south-west and Montreux-Vieux in the north-west.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Montreux-Jeune belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
