Sondersdorf is a French commune with 335 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region ( Alsace until 2015 ). It belongs to the arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Altkirch and the municipality association Sundgau .
geography
The municipality of Sondersdorf is located in the southern Sundgau , about 22 kilometers southeast of Altkirch and 25 kilometers southwest of Basel . The center of the village is 515 m above sea level. The Ill flows south of the village center . The community area extends in the south to the Glaserberg and about two thirds of it is forested. The district of Hippoltskirch belongs to Sondersdorf.
In the north, Sondersdorf borders on Bouxwiller , in the east on Raedersdorf , in the south or on the Glaserberg on Kiffis , in the west on Ligsdorf and in the northwest on Ferrette .
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Sondersdorf belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
