Lutter is a French commune with 279 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the arrondissement Altkirch , the canton Altkirch and the municipality association Sundgau .
geography
Lutter is located in the southern Sundgau , on the edge of the French Jura . In the south of the municipality, the Forêt Communale de Lutter extends with the massif of the Blauenberg . The center of the village is on the D23 department road that leads from Ferrette to Leymen .
The district of Blochmont on the pass road from Sondersdorf to Kiffis belongs to Lutter .
Neighboring communities of Lutter are Oltingue in the north, Wolschwiller in the east, Kiffis in the south and Raedersdorf in the west.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Lutter belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Altkirch district in the Upper Alsace district .
