history
In 735 the place was mentioned for the first time as "Leimone" . The name can be traced back to the soil structure made of clay , which also gave the name to the neighboring Leimental in Switzerland. In 1910 the last section of the Basel – Rodersdorf railway went into operation, and Leymen also had a train station at that time. Today Leymen is a community in the greater Basel area that is also valued by the Swiss.
