The Rhine is only two kilometers away and in the neighboring municipality of Chalampé there is both a road and a railroad crossing to Neuenburg am Rhein on the right bank of the Rhine in Germany . traffic

Since February 6, 1878, the municipality has had a train station at 14.330 kilometers of the Müllheim – Mulhouse railway line . In the 1980s, three pairs of trains still ran between Mulhouse and Chalampé every day. In 1981 the Neuchâtel – Mulhouse section was electrified. On September 28, 1986 passenger traffic was stopped. However, the route was retained for freight traffic .

In 1880 the Neuf-Brisach-Bantzenheim railway branching off from the Müllheim-Mulhouse line in Bantzenheim was opened, on which passenger traffic was suspended again in 1946. This route was also retained for freight traffic. Today, a remnant is of 10 km as siding for nuclear power plant Fessenheim .

On the Müllheim – Mulhouse route, there have been up to seven daily connections between Müllheim and Mulhouse since December 9, 2012, with at least one pair of trains running as an Interregio-Express directly to Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf . French X73900 are used , which, in addition to the two end points, also make a scheduled stop in Neuchâtel and Bantzenheim.
