The canton of Rixheim is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Mulhouse, in the arrondissement of Mulhouse, in the Haut-Rhin department and in the Grand Est region .
history
The canton was reorganized on the occasion of a constituency reform that came into force on March 22, 2015. The 12 communities belonged to the cantons Illzach (9 of the 11 communities) and Habsheim (3 of the 5 communities) until 2015 .
geography
The canton of Rixheim borders in the north on the canton Ensisheim , in the south on the canton Brunstatt and in the west on the cantons Mulhouse-3 and Wittenheim .

politics
In the first ballot on March 22, 2015, none of the five candidate pairs achieved an absolute majority. In the runoff election on March 29, 2015, the team Olivier Becht / Patricia Fuchs (both UD) won against Aurore Bohrer / Sylvain Schaub (both FN ) with a share of the vote of 71.27% (turnout: 46.98%). Olivier Becht became a MP in Paris in 2017. Marc Munck replaced him in the 2017 by-election.
