The canton Hirsingue was 2015 a French constituency breakdown in the Arrondissement Altkirch , in Haut-Rhin and the region Alsace .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Altkirch District".

With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Altkirch arrondissement (from 1857 Mulhouse).

From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the Altkirch district at that time .

On June 28, 1919, the canton was back in the Altkirch arrondissement.

On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered the cantons of Dannemarie and Altkirch in the north, the canton Ferrette in the south-east, Switzerland with the canton Jura in the south and the canton Delle in the Belfort arrondissement in the Territoire de Belfort ( Franche-Comté ) department.
