Canton of Neuf-Brisach
The canton of Neuf-Brisach was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Colmar , in the Haut-Rhin and the region Alsace .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Colmar".
With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Colmar.
From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the Colmar district at that time .
On June 28, 1919, the canton first became part of what was then the arrondissement of Colmar-Campagne, which from 1934 again belonged to the arrondissement of Colmar.
On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Andolsheim , in the east on Germany with the district of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in the administrative district of Freiburg ( Baden-Württemberg ), in the south on the canton Ensisheim in the arrondissement Guebwiller and in the west on the canton Colmar-Sud .
