Canton Illzach
The canton Illzach was 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Mulhouse , in Haut-Rhin and the region Alsace .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of the then Altkirch district . With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Altkirch arrondissement . From 1857 it became the arrondissement of Mulhouse. From 1871 to 1919 the area was part of what was then the district of Mulhouse , to which there was no further subdivision. On June 28, 1919, the canton became part of the (new) arrondissement of Mulhouse.
On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Ensisheim in the arrondissement of Guebwiller , in the east on Germany with the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and the district Lörrach , both in the administrative district Freiburg ( Baden-Württemberg ), in the south on the cantons Sierentz and Habsheim , in the southwest the canton of Mulhouse-Nord and in the west to the canton of Wittenheim .
