Canton of Habsheim

The canton of Habsheim was a French constituency in the arrondissement of Mulhouse , in the department of Haut-Rhin and in the Alsace region until 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District Altkirch ".

With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Altkirch arrondissement. From 1857 it became the arrondissement of Mulhouse.

From 1871 to 1919 the area was part of what was then the district of Mulhouse , to which there was no further subdivision.

On June 28, 1919, the canton became part of the (new) arrondissement of Mulhouse.

On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered the canton Illzach in the north and east , the canton Sierentz in the south and the cantons Mulhouse-Sud and Mulhouse-Est in the west .
