Canton of Munster
The Canton Munster was 2015 a constituency in the Arrondissement Colmar , in the Haut-Rhin and the region Alsace in France .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Colmar".
With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Colmar.
From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the Colmar district at that time .
On June 28, 1919, the canton first became part of what was then the arrondissement of Colmar-Campagne, which from 1934 belonged to the arrondissement of Colmar.
On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Lapoutroie in the arrondissement Ribeauvillé , in the northeast on the canton Wintzenheim , in the southeast on the canton Rouffach in the arrondissement Guebwiller , in the south on the cantons Guebwiller , also in the arrondissement Guebwiller and on the canton Saint-Amarin in the arrondissement Thann and in the west to the cantons of La Bresse in the Arrondissement Épinal and Gérardmer and Fraize in the Arrondissement Saint-Dié-des-Vosges , all in the Département Vosges ( Lorraine ).
