The canton Andolsheim was 2015 a French constituency in the Arrondissement Colmar in the Haut-Rhin department in the region of Alsace .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Colmar". With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Colmar. From 1871 to 1919 there was no further subdivision of the "Kolmar District" at that time. On June 28, 1919, the canton became part of what was then the Arrondissement of Colmar-Campagne, which in 1934 came back to the Arrondissement of Colmar. On March 22, 2015, the canton was dissolved.

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Marckolsheim in the arrondissement Sélestat-Erstein in the department Bas-Rhin, in the east on Germany with the district Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald in the administrative district Freiburg ( Baden-Württemberg ), in the south on the canton Neuf-Brisach and in the west to the cantons of Colmar-Sud and Colmar-Nord .
