Muhlbach-sur-Munster (German Mühlbach in Alsace , Alsatian mite ) is a French commune with 767 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Colmar-Ribeauvillé and the canton of Wintzenheim and is a member of the Vallée de Munster municipality . The municipality is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park .
geography
Muhlbach-sur-Munster is located on the upper Fecht in the last quarter of the Munster valley ( Vallée de Munster ) between Breitenbach and Metzeral . The municipality extends in the west close to the ridge of the Vosges . The Gaschney ski area is located here (1011 m).
The municipality has a stop on the Colmar – Metzeral railway line , which is used by TER Alsace trains.
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Muhlbach-sur-Munster belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Colmar district in the Upper Alsace district .

Worth seeing
Muhlbach has several sights. In addition to a Catholic church (consecrated in 1929) and a Protestant church (1930), there is also a sledge and woodwork museum.
