Husseren-les-Châteaux (German houses ) is a French commune with 514 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).
geography
Husseren-les-Châteaux is located at the foot of the Vosges , about seven kilometers southwest of Colmar in Alsace . The municipality is part of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park . Husseren is the highest village on the Alsace Wine Route . The municipality is enclosed by that of the municipality of Eguisheim .
history
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Husseren-les-Châteaux belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Colmar district in the Upper Alsace district .
