Logelheim is a French commune with 818 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Alsatian department of Haut-Rhin in the Grand Est region . It belongs to the canton of Ensisheim and the municipal association Pays Rhin-Brisach .
geography
The municipality of Logelheim is located in the Upper Rhine Plain on the Ill River , about seven kilometers southeast of Colmar .
The neighboring communities of Logelheim are Sundhoffen in the north, Appenwihr in the east, Hettenschlag in the southeast and Sainte-Croix-en-Plaine in the south and west.
history
Around 770 the place was called Lageln . It is also known that Logelheim was subordinate to the Count of Habsburg in 1025 and to the Ebersmunster Abbey in 1224 . In 1444 the village was destroyed by the Armagnacs .
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Logelheim belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Colmar district in the Upper Alsace district .
