Sausheim ( Saise in Alsace ) is a French commune with 5501 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).
The village is 230 m above sea level and is connected to the motorway network with the A 35 and A 36 . Today Sausheim is mainly characterized by the textile and car industry ( PSA Peugeot Citroën ).
history
It is first mentioned in 1468. Sausheim was affected by several wars, the last being from World War II . The liberation followed on February 6, 1945.
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Sausheim belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the district of Mulhouse in the district of Upper Alsace .
