Brunstatt-Didenheim ( Alsatian Brunscht-Didena ) is a French commune with 7,932 inhabitants in the Haut-Rhin department in the Grand Est region . The place belongs to the arrondissement of Mulhouse and the canton of Brunstatt .
The municipality was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2016 through the merger of the previous municipalities of Brunstatt and Didenheim . The town hall (Mairie) of the new municipality is located in the building of the previous town hall of Brunstatt.
geography
Brunstatt-Didenheim is located around four kilometers southwest of Mulhouse in the south of the Haut-Rhin department. The community consists of the settlements Brunstatt, Burn, Damberg, Didenheim and Schemen as well as individual farmsteads. Large parts of the community are forested. The highest point of the municipality is in the Bois de Brunstatt in the east. The district of Brunstatt is on the Rhine-Rhône Canal , the district of Didenheim an der Ill .
Neighboring communities are Mulhouse in the north, Riedisheim in the northeast, Bruebach in the east and southeast, Flaxlanden in the south, Zillisheim in the southwest, Hochstatt in the west and Morschwiller-le-Bas in the northwest.
