As of January 1, 2017, the community association was

- Communauté de communes d'Altkirch and
- Communauté de communes Ill et Gersbach
initially merged to form the Communauté de communes d'Altkirch et Environs , which was renamed shortly afterwards to the current name Communauté de communes Sundgau .
