Sean Jamel McCaw (born July 26, 1973 in Queens , New York City ) is an Austrian basketball coach and former player.
Life
McCaw, who grew up in Queens and Las Vegas and has had Austrian citizenship since 2000, played for Southern University of Utah and then as a professional for numerous European clubs.
Since the 2006/07 season, the 2.04 m tall and 93 kg heavy Power Forward has been under contract with Baskets Jena . On February 1, 2008, he took over as the successor to Björn Harmsen as coach of the Thuringian Bundesliga club. After the team was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA , he had to hand over his position to Tino Stumpf after a few games. In July 2009 McCaw was introduced as the new junior coach of the BBC Bayreuth . There he should promote the restructuring and improvement of the youth work.
For the 2012/2013 season he became the new assistant coach at the Cuxhaven BasCats in the ProA . There he should also restructure and expand the youth department.
From the 2013/2014 season onwards, McCaw coached the junior teams (in JBBL and NBBL ) of the New York Phantoms / Basketball Löwen Braunschweig . He was also the assistant coach of the Braunschweig junior team Spot Up Medien Baskets Braunschweig in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB until 2015 . McCaw's term in Braunschweig ended in June 2016.
