At the end of May 2020, the Viennese city administration announced the development of a district near the main train station in the 10th district under the name Neues Landgut . From 2022, 166 new community apartments are to be offered; other property developers will also build more than 1,300 apartments, some of which are subsidized.

A total of around 1,500 apartments are being built on the area formerly dedicated to freight transport by the Federal Railways , which is bordered by Laxenburger Strasse (with tram line O, stops at Südtiroler Platz and Columbusplatz ), Landgutgasse and the southern railway line . The historic Gösserhallen, former storage rooms for Gösser beer in Laxenburger Straße 2B, will be included in the project. The station Wien Hauptbahnhof (Südtiroler Platz) on the U1 is the most important traffic junction at the Neuer Landgut.

The name Neues Landgut refers to the old estate .
