Drobollach am Faaker See ( Slovene Drobolje pri Baškem jezeru ) is a village , a locality and at the same time the cadastral municipality Drobollach in the municipality of Villach with 441 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in the Villach district in Carinthia , Austria .

Geographical location

Drobollach lies on the north bank of the Faaker See , between this and the Drautal to the north . The Drava is significantly deeper than the surface of the lake.

history

1973 Drobollach became part of the city of Villach, after the place was previously part of the municipality of Maria Gail .

Infrastructure

Drobollach is on Faakerseestrasse . Drobollach is connected to local public transport via two bus stops in town. There is a public bathing beach in Drobollach, which attracted almost 25,000 visitors in 2013. (Most of the properties directly on the lake have their own swimming areas.)

The place also has a fire brigade.

Tourism is the main industry of the place; In 1975/76 the place achieved 330,000 overnight stays. The current tourism results are included in the figures published for Villach.

Johanneskirche

The Johanneskirche in Drobollach is a branch of the parish Maria Gail and was completed in 1981. The glass windows were designed by the artist Giselbert Hoke . In addition, the Peace Chapel was inaugurated in 1996.
