The Görtschitztalbahn is a non-electrified standard-gauge line in the Sankt Veit an der Glan district in Carinthia , Austria .

The railway line begins in Launsdorf-Hochosterwitz (municipality of Sankt Georgen am Längsee ), passed through Klein Sankt Paul and ended in Hüttenberg . It was built in 1869 to transport the iron ore that was mined in Hüttenberg at the time, and from 1871 passenger traffic was also set up.

When the works in Hüttenberg ceased operations at the end of the 1970s, the importance of the railway decreased. Passenger transport was finally stopped in 1995, and the route is now only used for freight transport, e.g. B. for Wietersdorfer & Peggauer Zementwerke GmbH. The originally 30 km long route is only served on the Wietersdorf – Brückl – Launsdorf section by the ÖBB with two pairs of trains on weekdays except Saturdays.

The track system has already been dismantled from Wietersdorf. From Wieting to Mösel, the former tracks have been adapted as a cycle path.
