Wieting parish church

The Catholic parish church, which was first mentioned in 1180/1193 and 1200/1206 and consecrated to St. Margaret of Antioch , is the historical center of Wieting. The large church building has a crossing tower and a chapel extension south of the choir and is connected to the provost house to the west by a covered corridor.

The church square was redesigned in 2008/2009. The road entrance was relocated and the square was separated from the road with steps. On the square is a Roman-era, headless seated statue of the goddess Isis Noreia .

Wietinger Thanksgiving

The Wieting harvest festival attracts hundreds of visitors from all over Austria every ten years and makes Wieting a stronghold of rural culture for this day. The highlight is the parade with over 70 floats, which are magnificently decorated by the clubs, companies and individual families. The next festival will take place in 2022.
