Viirelaid (German name: Paternoster ) is an Estonian island in the Baltic Sea southeast of the island of Muhu ( poppy ).

The area of the island is 81 hectares. It is up to 4.5 m above sea level and is very flat. In earlier times, the island served as a landmark for shipping. It showed the ships coming from the south the way to Väinameri .

On the island there is a lighthouse built in 1881 (renovation 2002). The current tower, which is 11 meters high, was erected after wooden construction from 1857 and is probably the oldest preserved metal tower in Estonia.
