Melanie Miehl

Melanie Miehl (* 1972 ) is a German scholar of Islam . From 2003 to 2008 she was the Christian chairwoman of the umbrella organization for the coordination of Christian-Islamic dialogue (KCID) in Germany.

Career

Miehl studied Islamic studies and works as a freelance speaker at conferences and congresses of church, Islamic and secular organizations and as a consultant on Islam and dialogue topics . She is the author of several books and writings on Islam and the Christian-Islamic dialogue .

Since 1998 Miehl was a member of the board of the Christian-Islamic Society . Together with the Muslim Murat Aslanoğlu , she was chairman of the KCID from 2003 to 2008, where she was also active in the Christian-Islamic Dialogue Forum . His successor in the office of chairman was Thomas Lemmen , with whom Miehl is married. She also represents her viewpoints on dialogue topics and the KCID in television and newspaper interviews as well as in discussions with church representatives and politicians. She is a member of the Dominican lay community .
