The Villa Flotow is a listed building in Darmstadt . It is located at Dieburger Straße 235 in a landscape park-like property.

In 1840 Freiherr von Hofmann had the classicist manor house built in an English landscape garden , presumably according to the plans of Georg Moller . The name can be traced back to the composer Friedrich von Flotow (1812-1883), who later acquired the building and lived in it for a while. The originally detached villa was later connected to a farm wing on the east side during a later renovation. In addition, a terrace was added on the west side.

The Villa Flotow is counted among the most beautiful examples of classical architecture in Darmstadt. The facade is characterized by elongated windows with round arches on the ground floor, richly decorated cornices and Ionic pilasters .

The property of Villa Flotow, located on Heiligkreuzberg on the northern edge of Oberfeld, includes an English landscape park (the Flotow Park ) with a fountain, a wayside shrine and a riding hall. The riding arena was built in 1939 according to plans by Wilhelm Koban . It is a round wooden structure resembling a circus tent and about ten meters in diameter.

In the north, the property along Dieburger Straße was bounded by a quarry stone wall that narrowed the course of the street in this section. Although the historic enclosure was also a listed building, it was dismantled in May 2014. It is to be rebuilt a few meters back into the park.
