Villa Gauhe
The Villa Gauhe was built in 1878 by the manufacturer Julius Gauhe in Eitorf . It is the grandest and largest private building in the municipality.
architecture
The spacious building was built with different materials. In addition to archways made of sandstone and foundations made of quarry stone from Grauwacke of local origin, the upper floors are partly made of half-timbered construction , partly made of red brick. In addition to sloping surfaces, numerous wood carvings are also characteristic.
In addition to the corridors, a floor plan of the ground floor also shows the coach house, heating, servants' room, coal room, ironing room, laundry room, sewing room, pantry, kitchen room and kitchen, dining elevator and two toilets, a cloakroom, a registration room, a living room and a billiard room with a veranda . The villa was surrounded by a large park, which today only exists in small parts. Its large trees have been partially preserved and are planted with ornamental bushes. There were also ponds on the site. The Eipbach flowing through the park was crossed by a bridge.
use
After the villa had stood empty for years and demolition was discussed, a CBT residential building has been set up there since 1982 to accompany people with intellectual disabilities. A total of 23 disabled people live in the house, with outdoor living groups and assisted living in the entire facility, 56 adults. JOVITA Rheinland gGmbH, a subsidiary of the Josefs-Gesellschaft , has been operating the facility for people with disabilities since January 1, 2018 . The building continues to belong to the CBT and has been leased by the Josefs-Gesellschaft for four years.
