History and architecture

The villa of brick , with outlines of travertine , was from 1924 to 1926 by Carl Gustav Bensel and John Kamps built on behalf of the merchant Otto Heutelbeck. It stands in a spacious, terraced garden plot. The flat-roofed cubes tower from the single-storey utility wing to three storeys on the valley side. The steeply towering front is underpinned there by an arcade . The free arrangement of the cubes and the windows is intended to illuminate every living space from two sides. The spatial program corresponds to the upper-class standard of historical models. The central vacuum cleaner system and the laundry drying cupboard in the basement should be mentioned as technical features.
