Villa Ignota in Andernos-les-Bains

The Villa Ignota in Andernos-les-Bains , a French commune in the Gironde department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region , was built in several stages from 1908 to 1914. The villa in the style of the French resort architecture is located on Avenue Pasteur.

It was built for Louis Théodore David, who was Mayor of Andernos-les-Bains from 1905 to 1929 and Senator of the Gironde department from 1920 to 1924 . After the building had been abandoned for a long time, it was bought by the municipality in the 1970s and extensively renovated. The villa is surrounded by a large park.

The building is also known as the Maison municipale Louis-David . It serves as a local museum , where parts of the excavation finds of a Gallo-Roman villa from the 4th century are exhibited, and for art exhibitions.
