The municipality is located in the catchment area of ​​the city of Bordeaux on the northeastern bank of the Arcachon Bay . history

Remains of a Gallo-Roman villa from the 4th century were discovered during excavations (see: List of Monuments historiques in Andernos-les-Bains ).

The place is first recorded in a chronicle of the 11th century.

Culture

In the Villa Ignota ( Maison municipale Louis-David ) is the local history museum , where parts of the Gallo-Roman excavation finds from the 4th century are exhibited. The former villa is also used for art exhibitions.

Town twinning

Andernos-les-Bains has had a partnership with Nussloch in Baden-Württemberg since 1977, with the Spanish city of Segorbe since 1993 and with Largs in Scotland since 2008 .
