Lège-Cap-Ferret is the westernmost municipality in the Gironde department. It stretches for 25 to 30 kilometers almost over the entire peninsula of Cap Ferret , which separates the Arcachon basin from the Atlantic Ocean . The village of Lège is located about 50 km west of Bordeaux on the northern tip of the basin, opposite the city of Arcachon on the south side.
