The canton Audenge was 2015, a Canton in Arrondissement Arcachon in the Gironde in the region Aquitaine in France .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the “Bordeaux District”.
With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of the then arrondissement of Bordeaux. Since January 1, 2007, the canton has been part of the newly created Arrondissement Arcachon .
geography
The canton bordered the canton Castelnau-de-Médoc in the north, the cantons Mérignac and Gradignan in the east, the canton La Teste-de-Buch in the southwest and the canton on the opposite side of the Bassin d'Arcachon in the west Arcachon .
