The canton Lesparre-Médoc was, until 2015, Canton in the Arrondissement Lesparre-Médoc in Gironde in the region Aquitaine-Limousin-Poitou-Charentes in France .
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Lesparre district".
With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Lesparre.
From September 10, 1926 to June 1, 1942, the canton belonged to the Arrondissement of Bordeaux .

geography
The canton bordered on the north with the canton Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc , in the east on the estuary of the Gironde on the opposite side with the cantons Saint-Denis-de-Saintonge and Mirambeau , both in the arrondissement Jonzac in the department Charente-Maritime , to the south to the cantons of Pauillac and Saint-Laurent-Médoc and to the west to the Atlantic ( Bay of Biscay ).
