Queyrac ( Occitan : Cairac ) is a French commune in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine with 1,382 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lesparre-Médoc and the canton of Le Nord-Médoc (until 2015: Canton of Lesparre-Médoc ). The inhabitants are called Queyracais .
geography
Queyrac is located about 65 kilometers north-northwest of Bordeaux in the Médoc . Queyrac is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vensac in the north and northwest, Jau-Dignac-et-Loirac in the north and northeast, Bégadan and Civrac-en-Médoc in the east, Gaillan-en-Médoc in the south and Vendays-Montalivet in the west.
The former route nationale 215 (today's D1215) runs through the municipality .
