Saumos is a French commune in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine with 532 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lesparre-Médoc and the canton of Le Sud-Médoc (until 2015: canton of Castelnau-de-Médoc ).

Saumos is about 33 kilometers west-northwest of Bordeaux . Saumos is surrounded by the neighboring communities Lacanau in the north and north-west, Sainte-Hélène in the east and north-east, Le Temple in the south and south-east and Le Porge in the west and south-west.
