Gaillan-en-Médoc is located about 61 kilometers northwest of Bordeaux in the Médoc . Gaillan-en-Médoc is surrounded by the neighboring communities Queyrac in the north, Civrac-en-Médoc in the north-east, Lesparre-Médoc in the east, Naujac-sur-Mer in the south and south-west and Vendays-Montalivet in the west and north-west.

The former route nationale 215 (today's D1215) runs through the municipality .
