Grayan-et-l'Hôpital is a French commune with 1,371 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Gironde department of the Aquitaine region .
geography
Grayan-et-l'Hôpital is located in the north of the Médoc peninsula , in the Landes de Gascogne , between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde estuary of the Garonne and Dordogne rivers . The municipality consists of the main town Grayan-et-l'Hôpital and a number of small settlements. The distance to the south-east of Bordeaux is almost 90 kilometers. The monitored beaches on the Atlantic, on the Côte d'Argent , are about five kilometers from the town center.
Immediate neighboring communities are Soulac-sur-Mer and Talais in the north, Saint-Vivien-de-Médoc in the east and Vensac in the south-east , and Vendays-Montalivet in the south-west .

Economy and Transport
Grayan-et-l'Hôpital is a municipality in which tourism is of some importance. In the south-west of the municipality is the Euronat holiday village with the largest nudist beach in Europe and a center for thalassotherapy . Furthermore, a little to the north of it, there is a large camping site , Camping Municipal du GURP , which is very well known in Germany and has around 1000 places.
The departmental road D 101 runs through the village . The Bordeaux - Le Verdon-sur-Mer line, line 33 of the TER Aquitaine railway company, connects the neighboring Soulac-sur-Mer, where the nearest train station is, with Bordeaux. A few kilometers north is the Soulac airfield.
