Blaignan-Prignac is a French municipality with 469 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Lesparre-Médoc and the canton of Le Nord-Médoc .
It was created with effect from January 1, 2019 as Commune nouvelle by amalgamating the previously independent municipalities Blaignan and Prignac-en-Médoc , with Blaignan now having the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are in Blaignan.

geography
Blaignan-Prignac is located about five kilometers northeast of Lesparre-Médoc in the Médoc area . The Atlantic Ocean is a shortest distance of around 18 kilometers to the west. The Pointe de Grave , the northern tip of the Médoc peninsula, is located approx. 32 kilometers to the northwest. Bordeaux , the capital of the department, is about 60 kilometers to the south-east. The altitude is relatively flat and most of the earth's surface is covered with vineyards.
