Le Temple is located about 32 kilometers west-northwest of Bordeaux in the Médoc countryside near the Atlantic coast (18 kilometers). Le Temple is surrounded by the neighboring communities Saumos in the north, Sainte-Hélène and Salaunes in the northeast, Saint-Médard-en-Jalles in the east, Saint-Jean-d'Illac in the southeast, Lanton in the south and southwest, Arès in the southwest, as well Le Porge to the west.
