Couquèques ( Occitan Coquèca ) is a French commune in the department of Gironde in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ) with 272 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lesparre-Médoc and the canton of Le Nord-Médoc (until 2015: Canton of Lesparre-Médoc ).
geography
Couquèques is located about 60 kilometers north-northwest of Bordeaux in the Médoc . Couquèques is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bégadan in the north and north-west, Saint-Christoly-Médoc in the east and north-east, Saint-Yzans-de-Médoc in the south and south-east, Blaignan-Prignac in the south and south-west and Civrac-en-Médoc in the west.
