Moritz Kuhl

Johann Moritz Kuhl (born March 28, 1814 in Butzbach ; † February 5, 1876 ibid) was a Hessian print shop owner and politician (liberal, progressive ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Moritz Kuhl was the son of the merchant Johann Conrad Kuhl and his wife Katharina, née Fischer. Kuhl, who was a Protestant, was the owner of a printing shop in Butzbach and married Dorothea nee Küchel, the daughter of the mayor Bernhard Küchel.

After attending the Butzbacher Gymnasium, Kuhl studied camera science in Giessen . During his studies in 1831 he became a member of the old Gießen fraternity Germania .

From 1849 to 1856, 1862 to 1866 and 1872 to 1876 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Upper Hesse 13 / Butzbach , then electoral district of Upper Hesse 6 / Lauterbach and finally the electoral district of Upper Hesse 3 / Butzbach-Nauheim.
