Friedrich Kraft (politician)

Johann Christian Friedrich Kraft (born April 7, 1807 in Friedberg , † September 7, 1874 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Friedrich Kraft was the son of the syndic and district judge in Grünberg Ludwig August Christian Kraft and his wife Maria Magdalena, née Eich. Kraft, who was of Protestant faith, married Dora (Dorothea) nee Kleberger (1810–1880) on March 3, 1833.

Kraft studied law and graduated with a doctorate in law. jur. from. During his studies he became a member of the old Gießen fraternity Germania in the winter semester of 1823/24 . In 1829 he was an accessist at the court in Giessen and became an assessor there in 1832 with voting rights. In 1835 he was appointed a member of the court and court judge. From 1866 he was a lawyer at the court in Giessen. In 1870 he moved as a councilor to the Darmstadt Court of Appeal and Cassation and in 1873 became President of the Darmstadt Court of Justice .

From 1851 to 1856 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 4 / Gladenbach . From 1866 to 1872 he was again a member of the state parliament. Now he represented the constituency of Upper Hesse 11 / Butzbach (the constituency of Gladenbach fell to Prussia in 1866 ). In the estates, he represented liberal and conservative positions.
