Friedrich von Grolman

Friedrich Ludwig Karl Christian von Grolman (born March 30, 1784 in Gießen ; † January 19, 1859 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian judge and member of the 1st and 2nd chambers of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

family

Friedrich von Grolman was the son of the Giessen law professor Adolf Ludwig Grolman (1722–1795) and his wife Anna Sophie née von Rauen (1744–1827). The later Minister of State Karl Ludwig Wilhelm von Grolman (1775–1829) was his brother. On March 4, 1813, the Grand Ducal Hessian nobility was recognized by the Royal Prussian nobility. Friedrich von Grolman, who was a Protestant denomination, married Johanna Eleonore Philippine nee Seyler (1781–1848). Their son, Friedrich Ludwig Franz Emil Georg Adolph von Grolman (1809–1864), who was a court judge and member of the state parliament, emerged from the marriage.

Life

Friedrich von Grolman was court attorney in Gießen until 1810 and in 1810 he was appointed judicial officer in Homberg an der Ohm / Burg Gemünden . In 1817 he moved to the Darmstadt court as a real court judge and first embarrassing judge . From 1819 he was a real councilor and in 1827 a real secret councilor . In 1832 he moved to the Darmstadt Higher Appeal Court as a real judge of higher appeal and cassation . 1831 and 1834 and again 1849-1858 was a member of the State Council , in 1836 he was appointed to the Privy Council.

From 1820 to 1824, 1826 to 1830 and again from 1834 to 1849 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 13 / Gedern-Ortenberg , Oberhessen 4 / Homberg and later Oberhessen 2 / Gladenbach. In 1856 he was appointed a member of the first chamber of the Hessian state parliament for life and retired in 1858

In 1856 he was awarded the title of Dr. jur. hc honored.
