Franz Koester

Franz Wilhelm Köster (born May 3, 1806 in Königsberg (Biebertal) , † February 17, 1870 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian judge and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Franz Köster was the son of pastor and inspector Johann Ernst Christian Köster (1764-1832) and his wife Eleonore Johannette Karoline, née Langsdorff (1768-1850). Köster, who was Protestant, married Johannette Friederike Karoline Emilie, née Becker, on May 4, 1856 in Gießen , the daughter of the Darmstadt court attorney Wilhelm Ludwig Jakob Becker.

Koester studied 1824 jurisprudence at the University of Giessen and graduated with doctorate to Dr. jur. from. In 1832 he became court clerk in Giessen and in 1836 became assessor with a vote and in 1841 a member and councilor at the court in Giessen . In 1863 he became a councilor at the Darmstadt Court of Appeal and Cassation .

From 1844 to 1849 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 6 / Homberg . In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament .
