Gottlieb Weidig

Gottlieb Eberhard Ludwig Karl Weidig (born February 20, 1793 in Cleeberg , † June 18, 1875 in Homberg (Ohm) ) was a Hessian forester and member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Gottlieb Weidig was the son of head forester Ludwig Christian Weidig (1765–1835) and his wife Wilhelmine Christine nee Liebknecht (1766–1831). His brother, Alexander Friedrich Ludwig Weidig (1791–1837) became rector and pastor . His other brother, Wilhelm Elias Carl Weidig (1798–1873) became a district judge in Altenschlirf and also a member of the state parliament.

Gottlieb Weidig, who was a Protestant denomination , married Caroline Friederike Eleonore, née Castendyck (born September 21, 1803 in Hungen , † March 21, 1884 in Homberg (Ohm)) in 1831 , the daughter of Christian Friedrich, the princely Solms-Braunfels rentier of Werdorf Carl Castendyk and Louise Regine nee Hofmann.

Gottlieb Weidig was a district forester in various forest offices. First in Groß-Buseck, from 1824 in Waldmichelbach , from 1833 in Koberstadt and from 1835 in Homberg (Ohm). In 1853 he was retired.

From 1849 to 1856 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 5 / Homberg .
