Wilhelm Weidig

Wilhelm Elias Carl Weidig (born March 25, 1798 in Cleeberg , † November 8, 1873 in Gießen ) was a Hessian district judge and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Wilhelm Weidig was the son of the chief forester Ludwig Christian Weidig (1765-1835) and his wife Wilhelmine Christine nee Liebknecht (1766-1831). His brother, Alexander Friedrich Ludwig Weidig (1791–1837) became rector and pastor . His other brother, Gottlieb Weidig (1793-1875) became a forester and also a member of the state parliament. Gottlieb Weidig, who was a Protestant denomination , married Friederike, née Simon († 1855), in 1855.

Weidig studied theology at the University of Giessen from 1815 . In 1822 he became court attorney at the court in Giessen , in 1827 assessor with a vote at the city ​​court in Giessen and in 1828 at the regional court in Schotten . From 1847 he was a district judge in Altenschlirf , which was later renamed Herbstein. In 1860 he retired.

From 1849 to 1850 and again from 1862 to 1866 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 8 / Herbstein and then in the constituency of Oberhessen 8 / Laubach.
