Eduard Seitz

Franz Joseph Eduard Seitz (born March 12, 1814 in Dorheim , † September 28, 1868 in Berlin ) was a Hessian judge and politician (church-conservative) and a former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Life

Eduard Seitz was the son of the district council in Vilbel , Joseph Aloys Seitz (1782-1851) and his wife Anna Maria nee Schmitt. Eduard Seitz, who was a Catholic denomination, married Emilie, born Freiin Röder von Diersburg , on May 27, 1852 in Darmstadt .

Eduard Seitz studied law in Göttingen from 1831 and in Gießen from 1834. In 1835 he completed his studies with a doctorate to become Dr. jur. from. In 1844 he was assessor at the Giessen City Court and from 1848 at the Giessen Court Court . In 1850 he moved to the Darmstadt court in the same position . In 1851 he was appointed court judge there. From 1853 he worked as General State Procurator at the Mainz Higher Court . In 1865 he was appointed privy councilor. In 1866 he was briefly retired and in 1867 appointed General Procurator at the Higher Appeal and Cassation Court in Darmstadt.

Eduard Seitz was a leading politician of the Hessian Catholics (see Center Party Hesse ). In the 10th electoral term (1847) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the constituency of Upper Hesse 7 / Schotten as the successor to Heinrich Fresenius . In the 15th-16th Election period (1856–1862) he was a member of the constituency Rheinhessen 4 / Nieder-Olm, in the 17th electoral term (1863–1865) of the constituency Starkenburg 4 / Seligenstadt as successor to Johann David Wissel and in the 19th electoral term (1863–1865 ) of the constituency Starkenburg 11 / Heppenheim as successor to Arnold von Biegeleben .
