Jakob Schlenger
Jakob Schlenger (born January 18, 1831 in Mommenheim , † January 24, 1917 in Mainz ) was a Hessian teacher and politician ( center ) and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Land estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .
Jakob Schlenger was the son of Barbara Schlenger. Schlenger, who was a Catholic, married Dorothea Wilhelmine nee Petri in 1865. He studied in Giessen, where he became a member of the Germania Giessen fraternity in 1852 . He was a teacher in Bensheim from 1861 to 1864 and in Mainz from 1864 to 1899.
From 1884 to 1885 and again from 1899 to 1905 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was initially elected for the constituency of the city of Mainz and in the 31st to 32nd electoral term for the constituency of Starkenburg 8 / Lorsch-Heppenheim. In 1874 he was a city councilor in Mainz.
