Peter Minnig

Peter Minnig (born February 9, 1799 in Straßenheim , † October 20, 1871 in Viernheim ) was a Hessian landowner and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Peter Minnig was the son of the landowner Johannes Minnig and his wife Elisabeth, née Dietz. Minnig, who was a Catholic, was a landowner in Viernheim and married Sabina, née Hauptmann (1798–1856), on April 8, 1826.

Minnig became town councilor in 1833, alderman in 1842 and mayor of Viernheim from 1848 to 1871. In 1850 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency Starkenburg 5 / Heppenheim .
